The Vattakanal Conservation Trust was established by Bob, Tanya and other Kodai citizens to protect and restore the Pambar Shola on the outskirts of Kodaikanal. It has been highly successful with regenerating sholas and drawing attention to the precarious fate of the rare shola/grasslands mosaic. VCT is now pioneering grasslands restoration in the Palni and Nilgiri Hills. (June 2004)
